Abstract of Paper to be Presented at Accio 2008
From Gred and Forge to Fred and George: Character Transformation in Harry Potter
Phyllis D. Morris
This paper analyses the way in which Rowling has developed key characters in the Harry Potter series to make their transformation not only believable, but of critical importance in how the series unfolds. It also discusses characters who do not transform over the course of the series, and will explain why Rowling deliberately chose not to send a transfiguration spell their way.
